Got Time, Passion, and Pursuit Of Side Income? Get Into Blogging!

Today, many people think that there is no money in blogging and that it is merely a passion project. I’m here to tell you that it is definitely not the case. With some marketing techniques and great overall content, you can really get paid for your high-quality blog. In this article, I am going to be breaking down how to start a blog, how to optimize it, and how to start making passive income from it.

  1. Website

A lot of people want to start their blog with free hosts like Wix, Squarespace, and Weebly. While this may be okay for a true beginner, you don’t want to keep your website on these platforms. One of the hosting companies that I would recommend going with is HostGator. HostGator has been around for awhile and has very affordable pricing. If you want to look into it more you can look at aWordPress membership websiteand see what the best option is for you. The reason why I don’t like going with free hosts is that they can shut down your site at any moment. Next, go to a site like GoDaddy and pick your domain name. Choose something similar to what your blog is going to be about.

  1. Content schedule

Once you have your site up and running, it is time to add content. The easier way to set up your webpage is through WordPress, a software I would recommend downloading. The platform just makes things so much easier and is so simple to use. As far as content is concerned, write down things throughout the day that your audience might like. If you are in the fitness niche, these things might be a full day of eating, your specific workout routine, or maybe just an interesting day in the life video. It is easy to get discouraged at first, so in order tostay motivated write on material that will ultimately help your audience achieve their goals.

  1. Marketing

Marketing your blog is key, especially when you start out. In the end, it is how you are going to be making most of your money. If you are getting no organic traffic to your site, you won’t be able to receive any feedback. This is why SEO is so important. If the search engine you are on sees that your webpage is optimized for a certain audience, they will show it higher in the search results. This ultimately leads to more traffic. There are ways to optimize SEO on your blog which we aren’t going to get into today. Another thing I would look into would be Clickfunnels. Clickfunnels is a software that allows you to build online sales funnels. You can make a funnel selling a product or capturing someone’s email to get them on your list. All in all, the possibilities are endless. The biggest thing with blogging is capturing your audience’s attention. Where attention goes, money flows. When you get really skilled, you can turn on paid advertising and get floods of traffic to your site for a relatively low cost.

  1. Social Media

Even though starting a blog is a great idea, the blog alone won’t do all of the work. You have to funnel your audience through a range of social media outlets like Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and a few others. The more traffic you can get to your site through these free sources, the better. You can post your blog in the description and give your audience good reason on why it is they should visit your site.

In the end, blogging isn’t dead and probably never will be as long as the internet is around.
