Virginia rose to the position of CEO of IBM after a career that saw her spend 30 years with the legendary technology company. Shareholders were understandably pleased with the $100 billion in revenues that were generated by IBM under her leadership.

4. Meg Whitman

Meg has had a career where she has proven herself to be one of the savviest and shrewdest women in the business world. She has held very powerful positions for a long time. She joined the famous auction website eBay in 1998 when the company had revenues of roughly $4 million. She eventually rose to the position of CEO and guided the company until her departure in 2008. The company’s revenues were around $8 billion at the time of her resignation. She then went on to become CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Carly Fiorina was a previous female CEO of the famous tech company that is based in Palo Alto, California. The company is known for being a pioneer when it comes to promoting women to pivotal roles throughout the organization. Meg is considered to be one of the most influential business leaders of her time and an inspiration to women around the world.
